Eating self.
The Jello Boob is a life cast of my left breast. It is the first edible art I created and was consciously designed as a vehicle for ingesting the combination of food and design as represented through my body. The boob flesh is made of hand squeezed peach juice, the nipple is of hand squeezed watermelon juice. The interior is lapsang suchong panna cotta (offering a smoke/”dirty” milk flavor).
By eating this form, the two worlds I had often separated were now one. The choice of the breast as form references the act of feeding – herein – both myself and the world.
